Calumet, Kewaunee and Winnebago counties all offer a great way to see East Central Wisconsin, by traveling the lakes. Do some spear fishing on Lake Winnebago, head out on Lake Michigan on a charter boat for some world-class fishing or dock your boat on the Fox River for the Waterfest concert series. Experience the taste of the lakes by sampling some delicious ethnic food at Sawdust Days, pure artisan honey from Wisconsin Natural Acres and fresh-smoked fish at Bearcats. Get outside and discover the beautiful scenery at the Waukau Nature Preserve and along the Ahnapee Trail, then climb to the top of the tower at High Cliff State Park for the best view of Lake Winnebago.   • Ledge View Nature Center Caving Tours

    Ledge View has caves! But, there is no access to the caves except on a scheduled tour. The caves are accessed via stairs and ladders. All cave tours are guided by a naturalist and include information about the biology, geology, and human history of the caves. Tours last about two hours. Visitors will have opportunities to crawl through passageways and explore - so plan on getting dirty!

  • Sawdust Days

    Go back in time to the 1870's when Oshkosh had 24 sawmills, 15 shingle mills, and 7 sash and door factories and was known as the "Sawdust City"! Experience these times when you visit the annual "Sawdust Days" festival, which features five days of music, food, fun, parades and the largest 4th of July fireworks display in the Fox Valley on the shores of Lake Winnebago.

  • Ahnapee State Trail Map

    More than a century since railroad bells rang and train whistles blown for the first time, quiet has returned to the Kewaunee and Door County countryside. A "rails to trails" conversion has removed the tracks. During spring, summer, and fall hikers, bikers, horseback riders, share the trail. In winter, cross country skiers and snowmobilers whisk across its frosty surface.

    Take the Barn Quilts Tour. Inspired by the Sac County Iowa Barn Quilts, the Kewaunee County Area Barn Quilt project began in January 2008. Over 125 area 4-H and FFA students worked with the community designing and painting 18 quilts for historically-significant barns.
