The legacy of the timber industry can be seen everywhere in Merrill from the old homes on the Historic Walking tour to the grand old Lincoln County Courthouse. Merrill is also proud of its parks and recreational activities. Ride the ATV trails of Harrison Hills, take on the mountain bike trails at the Underdown where you can also camp out with your horse and go for a ride the next day. There are festivals to enjoy such as the annual Barleyfest in honor of Lincoln Lager beer once brewed in Merrill by the Leidiger Brewing Company or the Ice Drag Races held on the frozen Wisconsin River in January and February. Rodeos are popular in Merrill from bull riding exhibitions at the Lincoln County Fair to the charity Rodeo Days event in June.
