Chippewa County, WI

Hike the Ice Age Trail through Chippewa County, a great Wisconsin destination. The Chippewa Moraine Visitors Center near New Auburn is a great place to start. Take time to learn about the Ice Age in Wisconsin. It will help you appreciate the trail hike even more. The Ice Age Trail takes you along the Chippewa River to Cornell where you’ll see something called the Stacker, the only pulpwood stacker in existence left over from the old logging days. There’s camping, swimming and boating at Brunet Island State Park or ride your bike down the Old Abe State Trail to Lake Wissota where you’ll find yet another state park for outdoor fun. But there are some things you can do in the Chippewa Valley you can’t do anywhere else. Such as touring the home of Leinenkugel beer and the Leinie Lodge. A family business that’s gone big time. Rock out to the music at Rock Fest in Cadott or have a down home time at Country Fest in the same place. Two of the biggest music festivals around.  There's always a great Wisconsin event happening in Chippewa County!
