Alma, WI

Perched on a narrow strip of land between the Mississippi River and 500-foot limestone bluffs is the 19th century river town of Alma. Located along the Great River Road and the Mississippi Flyway, Alma has several great spots to go bird watching, including a natural balcony that overlooks the town and river. Visitors can also see 35 trains go through each day, tons of boats that pass through a lock and dam, as well as throw in a line at their floating fishing dock on the river. Alma also features over 200 historic buildings downtown and stairstep streets that can still be used today.
