Located just 23 miles south of Madison and 18 miles west of Janesville, the lovely town of Evansville truly is the pinnacle of “small town charm.” From its red brick Main Street to the many historic homes scattered across town, Evansville has quite a vibrant history that is sure to fascinate. At the heart of Evansville is Lake Leota Park with its meandering creek, baseball diamonds, shelters, historic markers and beautiful lake.
Speaking of beautiful parks, just outside of town is Gibbs Lake County Park, where you’ll find visitors swimming, hiking, horseback riding and standup paddleboarding. For the art enthusiasts, there’s plenty to enjoy in Evansville at spots like Allen Creek Gallery and The Dancing Lamb – both located on Main. But the town is perhaps best known for its annual 4th of July Celebration, where thousands flock to take in the city’s parade, music, beer tent, kids’ activities and impressive fireworks display.
