Racine County is located on Lake Michigan, between the Milwaukee and Chicago metropolitan areas. It features a picturesque lake front and harbor, making Racine a pleasurable and relaxing recreational place for visitors. When traveling westward into the county, you will find beautiful countrysides, dotted with small lakes, working dairy farms and many hiking/biking trails. It's Milwaukee Time!

In this edition of Discover Wisconsin we visit the state’s largest city, Milwaukee. We'll take you on a brewery tour and sample some of the best food that is unique to Milwaukee, including the Friday night fish fry, famous frozen custard, and sausages made with recipes from the late 1800’s. Milwaukee is also home to some of the best museums in the state, and we visit one that is constantly evolving, Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin. Offering a variety of hands-on educational, cultural, and environmental programs for visitors of all ages, Discovery World is also the home port of Wisconsin’s Official Flagship, the “S/V Denis Sullivan.” The “S/V Denis Sullivan” is a floating classroom that offers educational programs for youth of all ages, providing a platform to learn why the Great Lakes are important to the people living around it. And, we take a side trip to a neighbor south of Milwaukee, Racine. Like Milwaukee, Racine is located on the shores of Lake Michigan, and has one of the best beaches in the state. Downtown Racine is bustling with outdoor concerts, museums, and a local theatre group. There’s a lot of eating, drinking, shopping, music, and dancing in this Discover Wisconsin episode.

In this very special episode, we’ll take a look at, not one, but 5 great destinations as we tour Southern Wisconsin. We’ll begin with a visit to Beloit. There, we’ll see special events like the ever-popular Riverfest, experience local arts and culture and travel back in time at some of the area’s notable historical sites. Then we’re off to the specialty cheese capitol of the country, the city of Monroe. We’ll party it up at Cheese Days, and take a tour of one of the many cheese plants in the area, plus take a tour of one of the oldest continually run breweries in the country. And what tour would be complete without the Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin’s number one vacation destination. We’ll see what makes this area so popular as we check in at America’s largest water park resort. Then we’ll make a stop in Racine county. We’ll explore the rolling hills of the countryside and see how the downtown and lakefront are experiencing a fantastic renewal. Finally, we’ll head north to the largest city in the state. We’ll see how Milwaukee is revitalizing the downtown, and visit many of the great attractions and activities that draw people from everywhere to visit Milwaukee.
