Ephraim, WI
DW Destination

The cultural and historic heritage of Ephraim makes it the enjoyable village it is today. Originally founded in 1853 as a Moravian religious community, the village still boasts the preservation of some of its earliest buildings. The Moravian Church (1858), the Pioneer School House (1880), the Anderson Store (1858), and warehouse, along with the Anderson Barn (1880), and eight homes in the village are still in use and available for you to see. Ephraim provides fun and enjoyment to everyone who visits. Adventurous types can explore Eagle Harbor from a jet ski, a kayak, or by parasailing high above the Bay. Rent a family-sized pontoon boat or enjoy the panoramic view of Ephraim and nearby Peninsula State Park on a sailboat tour. You can even spend a day relaxing at the public sand beach. From their exquisite harbor view dining, to their preserved wetlands and widely popular Wilson’s Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor (the best ice cream in “The Door”), the residents of Ephraim are extremely proud of their home. And here’s the best part: for those of you treasure hunters, almost all accommodations are within walking distance of shops and galleries set in century-old barns, rustic log cabins and vintage homes. Since the area is home to a growing artistic community, with several artists, pottery shops and art galleries you’re sure to satisfy your artistic side. Visitors will have an unforgettable shopping experience with the wide range of high quality items including clothing, jewelry, home furnishings, garden accessories, fine art and much more.
