The 6th annual Dan and Ray Rendering Thanks free community Thanksgiving dinner will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at Festival Hall in Racine.
Six years ago Dan Johnson of Danny’s Meats and Ray Stibeck of Route 20 Outhouse and Route 20 Chicken and Waffles wanted to organize an event giving back to the community. Since the first year, each year has grown larger with attendees and those who want to help volunteer and sponsor. Last year the event fed 2,500 Racine community members.
Thanksgiving dinner is free to anyone in the community. Items planned to be on the menu for this year’s dinner include turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, corn, stuffing, cranberries, rolls, butter and dessert. This event is family friendly and will also include several entities of entertainment for the whole family, including football on the big screen, live music, face painting, arts and crafts, as well as an extensive candy and dessert table.
