This is the biggest slice of Americana just waiting for you to enjoy it! Evansville does it right, with a kiddie parade followed by a grand parade in the morning that travels Main Street. Then everyone — really, everyone — makes their way to Leonard Leota Park to find some lunch from the local food vendors offering traditional picnic menus. Live music starts flowing, as does the annual rubber duckie race on the creek that meanders out the park’s signature feature: Lake Leota. Families relax all day at the park, in the sunshine by the lake or under one of the many magnificent old trees. As the day goes on, more blankets are staked on the ground as people start claiming their favorite viewing spots for the day’s grand finale: the incredible night show of exploding fireworks!
