We’ll be finishing our paddle trip at Macktown for their Frenchman’s Frolic Rendezvous.
Early fur traders used the Rock River as a “commerce highway” to move their wares. Joseph Thibault, the first white settler in the area, had his cabin near the confluence and Steven Mack had a fur trading post in Macktown (now Rockton), six miles down the the river. Our 6-mile paddle (2-hrs.) will follow this route and you’ll have an opportunity to walk around at Macktown for 1 hour after the finish of the paddle.
We recommend you bring a drink and snack for this trip to enjoy at Macktown.
