Eagle River’s Great Northern Beer Festival has received confirmations from 32 breweries that will be pouring their products for festival goers at the 12th annual event, June 11th from 2pm to 6pm on the festival grounds of Hi-Pines Campground. GNBF President Bill Summers says the event has grown steadily over the past 11 years as the craft beer industry has grown. “Festivals like ours allow people to sample so many different beers without having to buy a six-pack”, Summers says. “What better opportunity to find a few new favorite beers to enjoy this summer.” Summers says that many of the breweries will bring their newest beers, using the festival as an opportunity to introduce their latest creations. Local breweries like Eagle River’s Tribute Brewing Company and Minocqua Brewing Company will be pouring their beers at this year’s event. For a complete list of attending breweries go towww.greatnorthernbeerfestival.com. Attendees will also be entertained by the People’s Choice, a nine piece band from central Wisconsin, and can enjoy a selection of food options sold by the Eagle River Jaycees. Proceeds from the event will benefit Vilas Food Pantry, the Humane Society of Vilas County, the Olson Memorial Library Expansion Project, the Great Headwaters Trails and the Eagle River Historical Museum. The Great Northern Beer Festival has been recognized by Trip Advisor/FlipKey and Road Trips for Beer as “One of the Top Ten Summer Beer Festivals” in the country.
