Join the Rock County Historical Society and local historian Rich Fletcher for the 2017 Janesville Historic Walking Tours. Each tour is designed to showcase the unique personality and stories from Janesville’s distinct neighborhoods and downtown. Enjoy a 60-minute guided tour, learning about the people, places and heritage of each neighborhood. Tours will be held in different neighborhoods on the second Saturday of each month from May through September.Columbus Circle: A New Suburban Vision for a New Way of LivingThis tour will explore the pocket neighborhood of Columbus Circle, which represented a new way of life for a mobile middle class in the first half of the 20th century. ; The homes here are more modest and whimsical in architectural style, built largely in the 1920s.
