Ice Fishing Fundamentals 5:00-7:00 pm
Free of charge and open to all. NAIFC Pro Staff will explain and demonstrate the basic skills needed and techniques used in ice fishing. Designed for the beginners and intermediate fisherman, Ice Fishing Fundamentals will provide basic skills used by every fisherman.
Topics to include but not limited to: Learn: Knot Tying
Bait: how to put on a hook… how to keep alive
Plastics: How and when to use.
Jigs: Style, size, and use.
How to Sharpen a hook.
How to: Fillet a fish.
Cooking/Frying: breading basics.
Strike detection: Spring bobbers, slip bobbers.
Seminar Speakers 7:00-8:30 pm
Social hour 6:00-7:00 pm
This portion of the NAIFC Friday Night Seminar program is geared toward educating fishers. Learn how to use the best products and cutting edge techniques in the ice industry. The seminar is free of charge and open to the public. The following are the Guest speakers for the night.
KIDS ICE CAMP FEBRUARY 26TH, 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Free of charge, open to all kids. Each youth that attends the Kids Ice Camp will receive promotional Items from their future ice fishing adventures.
In class tutorial (Dunn County Fish & Game) 1:00pm – 2:00pm
NAIFC Pro Staff will demonstration indoors in a classroom setting: Ice Safety, Bait, Equipment, and Jigging.
On Ice fishing (Lake Menomin) 2:00 pm- 3:30 pm
Parents must accompany their kids during the on-ice portion of this event. The kids and parents will then be invited to fish on Lake Menomin with the NAIFC Pro Staff. Equipment will be provided. This is an outdoor event; please dress for the weather. This is an excellent opportunity to introduce a new way for kids to enjoy what the outdoors has to offer. Winter Fishing and introduction to the newest technology will give the parent and child a first look at ice fishing.
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 25TH, RULES MEETING 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM (DUNN COUNTY FISH & GAME)
This meeting is mandatory for at least one team member. Come early, have diner, get your packets, and relax before the big day. The Rules meeting will start promptly at 7:00.
From 5:00 – 6:00 pm late registration will be accepted up to 100 teams for an additional $20 fee. To avoid late fees register online or call Kathy at 320-229-0106, before Friday.
SUNDAY FEBRUARY 26TH INDOOR WEIGH-IN 2:00 PM (DUNN COUNTY FISH AND GAME)
Come watch as the Teams weigh in their “Catch of the Day.” Find out which Teams will automatically get an invitation or did they accumulate enough points to secure their spot for the National Championship; who will be competing for the Gold Rings and the honor of being called the 2016 National Champions!
