Climb the historic Wind Point Lighthouse for spectular views of Lake Michigan. The 144-step circular staircase is a very rigorous climb – not recommended for everyone. Volunteer guides are available to answer questions.
Built in 1880, the 108-foot lighthouse is the oldest and tallest working lighthouse on Lake Michigan. The structure is now owned by the Village of Wind Point and serves as the village hall.
Tour to the Top tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 through 12. Children ages 6 and younger are not allowed because of safety considerations. You must wear sturdy shoes – no flip flops or open toe shoes.
Tours are offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first Sundays of June through October. Advance reservations are required – visit http://windpointlighthouse.org or call 262-639-3777.
