Travel Tips

Guidelines for a Safe and Carefree Vacation

  1. Have your vehicle inspected. If you plan on driving, make sure to check tires, cooling system and oil. Keep the gas tank at least half-full. Travel with an inflated spare tire, jack, jumper cables and flares. Pack a flashlight, fire extinguisher and first aid kit.
  2. Keep kids happy. When traveling with little ones, pack snacks, toys, games, pillows and a blanket to make the ride that much more enjoyable.
  3. Be prepared! Plan your route ahead of time. Stay on main roads and highways. Inform others of your estimated travel time. Travel with a cell phone whenever possible.
  4. Practice caution. When driving, keep safety belts snapped, doors locked, windows up, and follow the rules of the road by observing safe speeds. Don’t stop to help someone with car trouble. Go to a phone and call police.
  5. Have fun! Enjoy your adventure, don’t sweat the small stuff and take lots of pictures!
