Know Your Wisconsin: Curling, One of the World’s Oldest Team Sports

Curling originated in Scotland in the 1400s and came to the United States in the 1700-1800s. Over the years, Wisconsin has played a major part in building the sport of curling in the United States. And, thanks to the winter Olympics, curling is also one of the fastest-growing winter sports! Wisconsin has been a curling hot spot for more than a century and at the Portage Curling Club in Columbia Wisconsin, the tradition continues. The Wisconsin State Curling Association represents more than 25 clubs in the state of Wisconsin, including the Portage Curling Club.
