[Official Rules] 2024 Discover Wisconsin Calendar Contest

It’s that time of year to enter the 2024 Discover Wisconsin Calendar Photo Contest! Simply enter online here. The 2024 Discover Wisconsin Calendar Contest is proudly presented by the Wisconsin Counties Association. The Wisconsin Counties Association represents the interests of county governments at both the state and federal levels and is located in Madison, Wisconsin.

Contest Description

Discover Wisconsin’s social media photo contest is a special opportunity for photographers (amateur or professional) to showcase their beautiful Wisconsin photographs and have a chance to earn a spot in the 2024 Discover Wisconsin Calendar.

Prize

The Discover Wisconsin staff will select twelve (12)  photos that qualify for the 2024 Discover Wisconsin calendar. Of those twelve winners, one (1) will be awarded the grand prize, including:

  • Photo featured on the cover of Discover Wisconsin calendar
  • Photo featured on the cover of Wisconsin Counties Association magazine
  • Exclusive write-up in Wisconsin Counties Association magazine where photo is featured

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for the grand prize package and/or to be considered for the 2024 Discover Wisconsin calendar, entrants must:

  • Submit a digital photo that features a Wisconsin destination and/or vacation
  • Submit original photographs that are at least 300dpi and no smaller than 5”x7” in a jpeg file format
  • Obtain necessary release forms from people appearing in their photograph
  • Maintain responsibility for ensuring that their submissions are in compliance with all legal and copyright requirements
  • Include their name, Instagram OR Facebook handle (preferably Instagram), address, email address, photo location and photo caption
  • Agree to release their photograph to Discover Mediaworks and Discover Wisconsin for promotional purposes in any media in perpetuity
  • Regardless of who is in the photo, only the submitter will receive the prize
  • Discover Mediaworks, the parent company of Discover Wisconsin, has the right to remove any photos deemed inappropriate for this contest
  • Voting does not determine the final 12 calendar images, submissions are sorted by Discover Wisconsin staff

How to Enter

This contest opens on Sunday, May 1st. Applicants must submit photos via the contest submission form. Electronic photo submissions will be accepted until Tuesday, May 31st. Photos received after 11:59 p.m. CST on May 31 will not be eligible for the contest. Inappropriate submissions will be flagged and removed and the user will be reported. Multiple photo submissions ARE allowed.

Discover Wisconsin will announce the cover photo winner via various social media channels. Subsequent cooperation with various outlets may be required (i.e. The Cabin Podcast, Wisconsin Counties Magazine, etc.)

Entrants consent to the use, reproduction or distribution of any information submitted, and understand that they are providing such information to Discover Wisconsin and not to the social media platform (Instagram or Facebook). All entrants release Instagram and Facebook from any claims arising from or associated with this contest.

The final images are chosen by the Discover Wisconsin staff, voting on the contest page is fun and interactive but does not actually determine the images in the calendar.

  1. So anyone who avoids the horrors of social media data collection cannot enter the contest. Wow.

  2. Maybe I read it wrong, but it looks like entrants can use the form link above to attach the photo entry directly. The space to type in a social media handle does not contain an asterisk (not required info) so I think one can still avoid the ‘horrors’…(a sentiment I happen to agree with wholeheartedly).
