Home of one of the top golfing meccas in the United States, if not world, is Wisconsin’s own Sheboygan County. Sheboygan County is not only for the professionals, but for amateurs of all ages, including the youth. At each course featured, there are junior golf programs to teach kids the name of the game and hone in their skills.
Of Sheboygan County’s many immaculate courses, Destination Kohler provides two top tier golfing facilities, Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits, that have housed worldwide events such as the Ryder Cup and PGA Championships. But don’t worry, these courses are suited for everyone, no matter your skill level. Pete Dye, designer of both world renown courses, included elements of the natural landscape to truly highlight Sheboygan County’s beauty as you play.
Just across the way to Elkhart Lake, Quit Qui Oc Golf Club provides their very own beautiful and unique courses that are playable for amateurs to pros looking for a challenge. Built in 1923, the course utilizes its natural lay of the land, which gives it its own one-of-a-kind character from rolling hills to vistas. Golf not only offers a lifelong sport to play, but it allows you to spend time together among family and friends on the green.
Nestled in Sheboygan Falls, Sunset Hills encourages the game of golf to be family friendly and taught at a young age with their beautiful 21st century par three course and miniature golf course. Sunset Hills, built in 2000, showcases its own incredible views, especially of the Sheboygan River at seven of the nine holes. Even though it’s a par three, there are plenty of obstacles that bring on the challenge like scattered ponds and creeks. With this design, it will surely make you a better golfer, especially when it’s your shot on the green.
