In Wisconsin, some airports are more known and more traveled than others. Two such airports are Milwaukee International Airport, the state’s largest, and Wittman Regional Airport, home of the EAA AirVenture. It’s the County Airports in our state, however, that are often easier to navigate and offer a variety of aviation experiences. There are 97 total airports across the state that are municipally owned. County airports have grown through the years to provide services that better the lives of travelers and citizens. Various aviation companies are based at County Airports. Wisconsin Aviation has offered services like air charters and flight training at Dodge and Dane County airports since 1981. County airports along with aviation companies also impact the economy. In Wisconsin, the economic impact is about 80 million dollars a year and the industry provides about one thousand jobs within all Wisconsin counties.
