Wisconsin is known for its recreational, all-season trails. It was the first state to complete a rail-to-trail conversion with the opening of the Elroy-Sparta Trail in 1967. Fifty-three years later, the state continues to make history, as it lays the groundwork for the expansion of the Great Sauk State Trail.
