Due to Covid-19, the way we travel inside our state has been changing—and changing frequently. The pandemic has impacted everyone’s ability to connect with our favorite people and places. We’re all interacting differently and exploring the world in new ways. But destinations like Beloit have been working hard to put safety first for their visitors and community members following state and county guidance and protocols. (Learn more.) We did the research—now you do the planning! Here are a few of our favorite spots to stay, eat, drink, and enjoy your time away in beautiful Beloit!

If you are in the mood to experience bold, worldly flavors in the heart of downtown Beloit, Truk’t is the place for you. Whether it’s their famous Peking duck taco, house-made corn tortillas, or selection of more than 100 global tequilas and whiskeys, you’ll notice that they like to keep things fresh and fun!

Velvet Buffalo Modern Italian

Modern in experience and timeless in taste, Velvet Buffalo Modern Italian delivers fresh ingredients with a side of rustic charm. Their seasonal menu features thoughtfully crafted dishes made from scratch that are inspired by the many regions in Italy. From their house-made pasta and artisan-style bread to their sustainably sourced seafood and unique spin on traditional desserts, you are always in for a treat when you choose Velvet Buffalo!

G5 Brewing Company

Prefer a cold one on tap? Then G5 Brewing Company is the place for you. This brewpub in Beloit offers an ever-rotating selection of craft beers and a full lunch and dinner menu. The regularly rotating beer selection is made thanks to their Wisconsin-built brewing equipment (QTS). Peek in weekly to try their newest beer brewed onsite in Beloit.

Riverside Park

If eating inside a restaurant is not for you just yet, let us offer you another idea. All the foodie destinations mentioned so far offer pickup and to-go options. You can order pick-up and enjoy your cuisine alongside the beautiful Riverside Park, located on the bank of the Rock River. Riverside Park boasts the Beloit River Walk, a 3.5-mile paved walk-bike path around the Rock River with plenty of benches plus two picnic shelters to stop and enjoy your fare. Make sure to check out the newest addition to the River Walk which was built over the river alongside Beloit College’s Powerhouse.

Hotel Goodwin

Situated in downtown Beloit, this stylish boutique hotel is a four-minute walk from the and one mile from Riverside Park. Picture vintage-chic, sophisticated rooms with tufted leather headboards and one-of-a-kind touches throughout the hotel that’ll have you whispering, “oh la la!”. Head to the first floor and you’ll discover Velvet Buffalo Modern Italian or make your way to the rooftop deck to savor appetizers inside a glass-enclosed dining room and an open-air terrace.

Ironworks Hotel

Located on the bank of the Rock River, this boutique hotel across the street from Ironworks Hotel was inspired by “America’s industrial heritage” and the architectural thoughtfulness shows in every detail here. The suites feature exposed brick walls, dark wood headboards, double-sided fireplaces, rainfall showers, and soaking tubs perfect for those winter getaway months. There’s also Merrill & Houston’s Steak Joint, an upscale steakhouse located on the first floor, which overlooks the river.
