Nature AttractionsÂ
It’s no surprise that the Menomonie Area is filled with many beautiful natural areas throughout! First is a true Wisconsin historic hidden gem, Devil’s Punchbowl. This historic landmark was established in 1961 and has truly been thriving in our state every year since. Devil’s Punchbowl has two short trails within, the upper starting with a stairway that takes you right to the top of the falls and to an excellent location to overlook the bowl! The next trail is down a long slope that leads you right into the bowl. Either way, you can’t go wrong but do note that this is a challenging trail so be ready to get your workout in!
If you’re looking for another hike in the area and a beautiful park to get out and explore, check out the Red Cedar State Trail! This trail is the community’s pride and joy as it is known as one of the greatest natural resources in the area. The trail is open to hikers, bikers, and in the winter months, cross-country skiers and snowshoers! (Yes, the trail is open during all seasons!) You can explore the farmlands, forests, rustic bridges, sandstone bluffs, and even see wildlife while out exploring. This trail truly makes for a great day trip exploring the Menomonie Area!
The area itself boasts these two wonderful parks but there are many other opportunities to check out the beautiful nature hidden within the Menomonie Area. Some of the other top nature areas include Hoffman Hills, Wakanda Park, Lake Menomin, and WoodWind Park. Each of these areas has a little something special and different to them.
