Tomahawk is often considered the gateway to the Northwoods, and it has everything you’re looking for in a Wisconsin winter adventure! Join Discover Wisconsin host Apurba, as she returns to Tomahawk for her first snowmobile tour and a jump in the lake!<br /><br />The natural beauty of Tomahawk is absolutely stunning in the winter. Snow-dusted forests are contoured by multiple frozen waterways: Lake Mohawksin, Lake Nokomis, Lake Alice, the Spirit River Flowage and the Wisconsin River. The seasonal transformation provides new opportunities to get outside and have fun. There are hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails through the Tomahawk area, with resorts, restaurants and service stations right along the trail. Apurba rides the Hiawatha Trail with her fiancé and some local snowmobilers. They cross over Lake Nokomis to find a popular fishing tournament. Tip Up! Later in the afternoon, Apurba goes for an icy plunge at the Star Splash on Lake Mohawksin.
