Corn Feed used to Fuel Beef | Know Your Wisconsin

February 29, 2024

Reeb Farms Incorporated in Whitewater, WI grows approximately 3,500 acres of corn and soy. The corn grown here is different compared to the sweet corn purchased at your local grocery store because it’s dried and ground into animal feed. Producing healthy feed is paramount to nurturing livestock and even results in better beef selection when it eventually makes it to the dinner table. Corn produced here goes into the beef value chain, meaning that once it’s harvested much of it goes to an animal nutrition plant and then heads to beef production. Another portion of corn from Reeb Farms goes to ethanol production.

Raising healthy crops and being stewards to the land is a goal that all farmers aim to reach. The highest quality final product starts in the field by growing healthy plants to feed animals, and in many cases, those animals help feed families. Reeb Farms Inc. is a single business location that processes and dries corn on-site, this lowers their carbon footprint. Locations like this work hard to both tend to their land and act in an environmentally conscious way.
