Wisconsin is a state lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing dairy farms and creameries that together produce delicious, high-quality, award-winning cheese, and the cheese curd is one of the most popular forms it comes in. For fresh cheese curds to maintain that signature squeak, it’s best to keep them at room temperature and consume them within a day or two. While many people stand by the statement “fresh is best” there is also a strong case for the fried cheese curd. There are even events known as “curd crawls” dedicated to offering copious amounts of curds to sample!
