If you’re looking for a truly unique experience, the 105-acre park and environmental center known as Ledge View Nature Center, is where you want to be. This seemingly endless exploration cove on the edge of the endless shores contains a plethora of woodlands, dolomite ledges, open prairie, an inactive quarry, 3 miles of trails, a 60-foot observation tower, an arboretum, and gardens with native wildflowers; but it’s most known for its caves. Caves that are maintained as wild without any paved walkways or electric lighting where some moments you’re crawling on your stomach then the next thing you know you’re looking up at rocks 30 feet above your head.
