Farley Center | Know Your Wisconsin
In 1983, Linda and Eugene Farley purchased land, built a house in Verona, and opened their home for meetings and retreats to help promote social justice. In 2009, the estate formally became the Farley Center for Peace, Justice and Sustainability with 25 of the 43 acres becoming a natural cemetery called, “The Natural Path Sanctuary.”
Today it holds steadfast to an environmental mission geared towards teaching people about sustainable environmental practices as it is home to Dane County’s only farm incubator. This community farm allows people to focus on growing good food for the community, without the worry of a financial burden. The Farley Center also hosts a beekeepers pilot program to teach budding beekeepers everything they need to learn throughout the entire season, starting with empty hives all the way through honey extraction.
