![The Ho-Chunk People have been in the area that we now call ‘Beloit’ for hundreds of years. They established the village of Ke-Chunk at the junction of Turtle Creek and the Rock River, as it was predominantly used for agricultural purposes. For the last decade, they have been working to bring a new casino, hotel, convention center, dining, and entertainment complex to the area. This new project is projected to bring with it 1,300 jobs and continued renovation to Beloit. <br /><br />With Beloit’s history as an ironworking and industrial city, The Ho-Chunk Nation is working hard to incorporate local history and materials into their design, while making sure everyone is protected.
