World Championship Derby Complex January 2020 Lineup | Know Your Wisconsin
Eagle River, Wisconsin is home to the World Championship Derby Complex, and this month there are two major events you aren’t going to want to miss. First up, the World Championship Vintage Snowmobile Races January 10-12. This nostalgic event is dedicated to snowmobiles from the 60s 70s and 80s. Check out three days of racing featuring some of the earliest, and most classic models of snowmobiles, this is the perfect opportunity to reminisce about the good-old-days of racing in the Northwoods.
Later in the month, during the weekend of the 16th is the 57th Annual World Championship Snowmobile Derby. This year highlights the new Pro Champ and Formula III classes. Also new to this year’s championships is the opportunity to witness the first side-by-side ice oval racing on the banked oval as the famed off-road World Champion Johnny Greaves, brings us his sports series knowledge. Every year more than 40,000 spectators attend to see who the new snowmobile champion will be at the end of an exciting weekend of racing.
Since coming under new ownership in 2018, the event has been revamped and now includes a wider variety of activities and elements for all attendees to enjoy. Including kids races, a vintage display, tons of vendors in the expo hall, and this year motorcycles are back in the lineup!
