Outdoor recreation meets small town living! Halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, Jefferson County is a rural oasis of activity. <br /><br />With over 450 miles of snowmobile and club trails, it’s easy to trade out the beaten path for a rustic escape through the frosted trees. Local parks also provide a picturesque backdrop for snowshoeing and skiing. The Jefferson County Dog Park provides your pupper a whopping 109 acres for roaming and running! <br /><br />Legendary Lake Mills kicks it into gear each winter with the Knickerbocker Ice Festival, where the community comes together. A hand-carved ice bar, ice softball and ice golf will be sure to keep your blood moving. These two girls, Mandy and Brielle, have been participating in 4H to increase their skills in agriculture and animal care specifically. 4H gives these students a community of like minded friends that have found a place in agriculture. Baby calves and little kits are well spoiled by these girls. Eric Paulsen learns about all that the girls do to care for their livestock. Geneva Lake’s pristine waters are a scenic centerpiece for its surrounding Lake Shore Path. Unlike any other lakeside walkway, this roughly 22 mile path stretches around the entirety of Geneva Lake! The path follows the edge of the water and rests within the stunning landscapes of the area’s most historic and majestic summer homes including the Blacktoft Mansion, Wrigley Estates, Casa del Sueño and Glen Annie. Originally a Native American trail used by the Potawatomi, the path remains a treasured route to explore the neighborhoods’ history, elegance and charm. The true magic of the path lies in the maintenance and care by the lakeside homeowners who have adorned their portions of the path with charismatic signs, exquisite gardens, and delightful statues.
