Fall is upon us, and the changing leaves serve as a great reminder to slow down and enjoy the beauty of the season! From apples and cranberries to iconic pumpkins, these fall celebrations offer fun, feel-good ways to escape from the everyday routines and business of life.

Apple Festival

Up first: Bayfield County’s Apple Festival, taking place October 2-4, 2026, in beautiful Bayfield! You’re invited to switch up your usual weekend routine with what’s known as one of “Wisconsin’s Best Festivals” for 64 years and counting.

Browse food and craft vendors, enjoy live music from musicians like Big Top Chautauqua’s Blue Canvas Orchestra, and don’t forget about the Spectrum Carnival, the Grand Parade, and the crowning of the Apple Festival Queen and/or King.

You’ll be heading home with countless feel-good memories and a clear, renewed mindset.

Cranberry Fest

Next up: Cranberry Fest in Vilas County, happening October 3-4, 2026 in the one-and-only Eagle River! Come Up North and experience this 46-year tradition, stepping away from the business of life and into the heart of Cranberry Country.

While cranberries are certainly the star of the show—with everything from craisins and pastries to beer and wine—there’s so much more to discover. Check out the arts and crafts fair, the local farmer’s market, and the wide variety of family fun.

Find your refreshing break at Cranberry Fest, “Up North…Down to Earth.”

Pumpkin Fest

The last fall celebration is a true staple: Washington County’s can’t-miss Pumpkin Fest! Running through November 1, 2026, at Basse’s Taste of Country in Colgate, this feel-good festival offers all of the fall favorites—from pumpkin patches and corn mazes to train rides and more.

Looking to unplug and play with your kiddos? Be sure to check out the ziplines, tractor pull, pedal cart raceway, and other family-friendly activities. For a slower-paced adventure, visit he u-pick pumpkin patch, then stop by the petting zoo.

Spend the day making memories, getting active, and enjoying a screen-free change of pace.

Winter Celebrations

When the snowflakes start to fall, even more feel-good festivals await! And the best part? These winter celebrations take place throughout the state, so you can find one close to home—but far enough to fully reset.

Alice in Winterland

The first winter celebration on the list takes place in Lincoln County, where the Northwoods start and your adventure begins. Any guesses? It’s Alice in Winterland—a family tradition that keeps visitors coming back year after year.

Held annually on the first Saturday in February, Alice in Winterland brings family and friends together on Lake Alice for a friendly ice fishing tournament (and the chance to win prizes). This feel-good festival has been bringing the community together for over a decade.

You can’t beat a day on the ice—away from the everyday and surrounded by family and friends.

Fire & Ice Festival

To Door County for the one-of-a-kind Fire & Ice Festival! On February 13-20, 2026, Sturgeon Bay lights up with unique art, outdoor fun, and, of course, endless ways to spend quality time together.

Plan a weekend getaway, starting with a winter hike at Crossroads at Big Creek, followed by watching talented carvers turn blocks of ice into true masterpieces. As the day comes to an end, warm up by the campfire with a warm drink in hand.

There’s truly no better way to warm the soul and escape your usual routine.

Winterfest

Last but certainly not least, head to Walworth County from February 3-7, 2027, to experience the magic of winter at Lake Geneva’s Winterfest. This feel-good (and free) festival is nothing short of extraordinary, bringing incredible artistry and unmatched community to the season.

Home to America’s Snow Sculpting Invitational, Winterfest welcomes 15 talented teams from across the country and around the world for an epic challenge of craft and creativity. Watch the snow sculptures take shape, explore downtown, and warm up at Bonfires on the Beach.

These are the moments that help us reconnect, recharge, and, well, feel good.
