In the heart of Merrill, Music in the Square brings the community together with lively tunes that fill the summer air. Connect with the locals and enjoy Wisconsin’s warm summer evenings. Looking to sit back and relax? Sawmill Brewing Company is just for you. Located in the gateway to the Northwoods, this brewery offers a cozy atmosphere surrounded by towering pines, delicious food from local food trucks, and a selection of craft beers to enjoy on-site or take home.
Another summer hangout is Helene’s Hill Top Orchard, offering more than just apples. This centennial farm has been in the family for over 100 years and features an orchard, pumpkin patch, and Wisconsin’s largest wagon ride. Enjoy charcuterie nights, cigar and bourbon nights, and sunset dinners with live music on Thursday nights. Savor signature dishes made fresh from local ingredients by Chef Travis.

Fall

Ready to fall head over heels in love with Lincoln County? Buckle up, as we venture off road and weave through the stunning fall foliage that the Northwoods is famous for! Choose your mode—ATV, UTV, or motorcycle, and enjoy the ride!
Up first, we’re riding the Harrison Hills ATV Trail System! Spanning over 60 miles, these trails offer visitors a challenging and diverse experience, with climbs, rock crawls, lakes, and campgrounds to discover. The trails even connect to Langlade and Oneida counties, unlocking even more opportunities for adventure.
The local ATV club has created an ultimate pitstop along County B. This parking lot is decked out with a pavilion, bonfire pit, and bathrooms. But this isn’t the only pitstop along the way…Stop by tasty restaurants like the Winding Trail Grill & Bar, serving up delicious food and drinks. Enjoy daily specials, appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and homemade pizzas while taking a break from your ride.
Celebrate the beauty of the Northwoods and the thrill of the ride just north of Grandfather Falls. In Tomahawk, the Northwoods Fall Ride brings together thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts for charity rides, live music, and community fun. Participate in activities ranging from bike shows to Harley-Davidson plant tours. It’s a time when the community grows from 3,000 to over 30,000, all looking to ride in unity!

Winter

Suit up for an epic snowmobile trip! This Wisconsin wonderland boasts an extensive network of snowmobile trails, with over 300 miles of groomed paths that connect to neighboring counties. For a more leisurely pace, fat-tire biking is a great way to explore the scenic winter landscapes.
Aside from the endless miles of trails, Lincoln County is also home to over 700 lakes and streams that hold a variety of fish species like musky, walleye, and northern pike. To name a few infamous lakes, test the waters of Lake Alice, Lake Mohawksin, and Lake Alexander—where the competition heats up!
Engines roar at the World Championship Merrill Ice Drags, a thrilling winter tradition—going on over 60 years—that brings the whole community together! This adrenaline-packed competition takes place on select Saturdays, with races starting around noon. It’s a must-see (and FREE) winter experience you’ll never forget.
