Summer has officially begun and Antigo is calling your name! Right in the heart of Wisconsin, you can find family and fun. From a little hometown diner to outdoor explorations, get ready to plan for your adventure while visiting Langlade County, aka the county of trails, this summer.
Visit a Local Antigo Diner
You can’t make a Wisconsin road trip without stopping into a local family diner. In downtown Antigo, stop by Dixie Lunch for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. But don’t be surprised when you need to make a second stop! This diner has been opened and run by the Ourada family since 1945 and serves up true home-cooked food, and they have the friendliest service to stop and fill up before a busy day exploring the outdoors!
Explore The Downtown Farmers Market
Is there anything better than a local and fresh farmers market? Of course not! The local farmers market in downtown Antigo is the perfect place to get outside and indulge yourself in the local scene of Langlade County. From June 5th until September 25th, head to the Heinzen Pavilion in Antigo between 8am and 12pm on Saturdays for fresh and local food. Some of the tasty goods you can find at the farmers market are: asparagus, apples, sweet corn, pickles, coffee, flowers, eggs, honey, cucumbers, and so much more! Truly anything and everything can be found to make your visit feel a little more community based.
Head Out For a Nature Filled Walk
Don’t miss out on the Springbrook Trail in Antigo! This walking and hiking trail is just over 2 miles and is right along Antigo Lake and Springbrook. If you definitely want to see the wildlife, talk a walk along the wood chipped loop. Other serene areas along the path include a 1,800 foot boardwalk and a wilderness area for getting lost in the forest.
