Fall is here, and in Wisconsin, that means one thing: farmers’ markets are loaded with all the best seasonal goodies! If you love the smell of fresh-baked pie, the crunch of crisp apples, and the sight of bright pumpkins, you’re going to want to know where the best market spots are. So, here’s a guide to some of our favorites across the counties—and what makes each one worth a trip this season!

Vilas County: Eagle River Farmers Market

Fall in the Northwoods is pure magic, and the Eagle River Farmers Market is the perfect place to dive right into the season! With crunchy leaves beneath your feet, fresh squash, sticky-sweet maple syrup, and homemade goodies galore, this market is a true celebration of local flavor and community. 

Visit on Wednesdays (through October 8) and Sundays (through October 5) from 8:30 am to 1 pm, where more than 70 vendors—including food & drink trucks—offer an incredible variety of goods. Conveniently located at Highway 45 and Michigan Street, the market is just a short walk from charming downtown Eagle River.

For an extra-special fall event, time your visit during the first weekend in October for the iconic Cranberry Fest! Bright red bogs, family-friendly activities, and cranberry-inspired treats make it one of the Northwoods’ most anticipated traditions!

Crawford County: Ferryville Farmer’s Market

Get ready for some good old-fashioned fall fun at the Ferryville Farmer’s Market, set against the scenic backdrop of the Mississippi River! Just a short drive from Wisconsin’s Apple Capital, Gays Mills, Crawford County lives up to the name with nearby orchards overflowing with freshly picked apples—a perfect way to start your trip.

And as you make your way further along the Great River Road, you’ll find the Ferryville Farmer’s Market, running every Saturday through the end of October, from 9 am to 3 pm at Sugar Creek Park! Browse a wide variety of vendors selling everything from farm-fresh produce and baked goods to handmade baskets and woodcrafts. Quick tip: arrive early to grab a complimentary cup of Kickapoo Coffee Driftless Morning Brew—available until it’s gone!

Take your time wandering from booth to booth, meet friendly local vendors, and enjoy the easygoing charm of the community. Come hungry, bring your camera, and capture the stunning fall farmland views that make this market so special.

Jefferson County: Watertown Farmers’ Market

For a true taste of fall in Southern Wisconsin, the Watertown Farmers’ Market is a must-visit! Whether you’re stocking up for a cozy dinner or simply browsing the season’s freshest finds, this market offers something for everyone.

Held every Tuesday from May through October, 7 am to noon, the market takes place in scenic Riverside Park. With more than three dozen vendors, you’ll discover farm-fresh produce, artisan cheeses, meats, baked goods, flowers, specialty crafts, and unique handcrafted gifts—all in one warm, welcoming space.

Aside from these fall goodies, the market also carries a bit of history! As one of the oldest continually operating farmers’ markets in Wisconsin, it traces its roots back to the 1860s when it began as a horse and cattle fair. That tradition of community gathering still thrives today!

After shopping, extend your visit with a stroll through Downtown Watertown. Decked out in vibrant fall colors and filled with charming shops, it’s the perfect way to round out your day in Jefferson County.

Milwaukee County: Oak Creek Farmers Market

Who says farmers’ markets are just for the country? The Oak Creek Farmers Market in Milwaukee County brings fresh, delicious fall flavors right into the heart of the city! From May through October, you’ll find everything from artisan breads to local honey. Add in live music and food trucks serving up tasty bites, and this market fills both your basket and your appetite.

Open every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm (with the last market of the season on October 25), the Oak Creek Farmers Market is more than shopping—it’s a Saturday tradition! Nestled in Drexel Town Square, it’s the perfect place to make a day of it.
