Ride Your Way Through Jefferson County
Sweet summertime in Jefferson County has officially arrived! Start your summer days with flavorfully brewed coffee at Berres Brothers Coffee, otherwise known as Willie Wonka’s Flavor Factory in Watertown, Wisconsin. With over 39 flavors and four new seasonal flavors every 3 months, it’s no wonder how they got their name. After a few cups of flavor factory fuel, it’s time to hit the biking trails as that sweet summer sun shines down on the path.
Begin your pedaling journey at the historic Red Covered Bridge, part of the Glacial River Trail. Built in the 2000 from early 1900s barnwood, the notorious Red Covered Bridge was designed to look like a train caboose to commemorate the history of the railroad beneath the trail. Ride like the wind along the vibrant green path and keep a look out for the Roahen family statue, dedicated to an avid biker that once biked the path any chance she could get.
As you follow along the path, it leads directly to Jones Dairy Farm, which was originally a rail car loading dock to Chicago’s Northwest Railroad! Today, enjoy a sweet pit stop for an indulgent ice cream parlor and savory market–Jones Market. Right across the street, watch a local baseball game. The trails of Jefferson County truly connect the heart of the community together from the quaint towns of Jefferson County, its lush nature, rich history and of course, each other.
