St. Germain: A Northwoods Winter Experience
If you’re seeking a winter escape, look no further than gorgeous St. Germain. Discover Wisconsin Host, Eric Paulsen, takes us on a journey through the beautiful Wisconsin northwoods for some excitement along the trails.
First, we head out along the Awassa trail. Here we meet up with a few St. Germain locals and nature enthusiasts for some snowshoeing. Breathing in the fresh air amidst snow-tipped coniferous trees was truly magical
Next, we experience the brand new Fern Ridge Trail. With five miles of fat tire biking trails, to call it awesome would be an understatement. After falling a few times and getting right back up, Eric was in for a ride! (No pun intended). Not to mention, the hills definitely make for a great workout in the middle of a winter wonderland.
Our last outdoor activity of the day is one that St. Germain locals know best. Ice fishing. Eric meets up with local fisherman, Kenny Jackson, to ice fish one of St. Germain’s many lakes. Here we enjoy the respite of the open lake and the distanced company of other fishermen. After catching a couple of fish, Kenny gives us the inside scoop on local winter fishing events in St. Germain.
Of course, we couldn’t leave St. Germain without hitting up a supper club. Especially on a Friday. Did someone say “Fish Fry?!” After visiting the cozy Pub and Prime for a delicious meal, we end our St. Germain adventures satisfied and excited to come back for another visit soon.
