For the first time in Discover Wisconsin history, our crew hits the road in an RV for a classic Wisconsin “family” road trip! Our only mission: to experience the beauty, the adventure and the charm of Turtle Lake and Barron County (Oh yeah, and campfires, s’mores, and stops for cheese curds).
In the winter, Barron County is full of excitement. Eric tries a new level of cross-country skiing experience and chats with Louis Muench of the Cumberland Area Ski Touring Association (CASTA) about the terrain and elevation changes on these trails spanning over 2 thousand acres. Few know that CASTA is responsible for designing, building and maintaining these trails each year, which are often used for Birkie training, and have done so for the past 35 years.
