First, the crew stops by Forest County Potawatomi for a glimpse into a buffalo farm working to bring back purebred buffalo. Next, we head to Mole Lake Sokaogon to learn about wild rice cultivation and traditional dishes. Afterward, we make our way to Menominee for a forest tour and look into milling. The tour continues at Stockbridge-Munsee, where educational resources and farm-friendly activities await. Our discovery takes us to the apple orchards of Oneida managed organically with chickens! More tasty delicacies are in store with Ho-Chunk–healthy recipes rooted in tradition. From foodie favorites to fishing hotspots, we visit Lac du Flambeau’s fish hatchery, learning about the operation and, of course, reeling in a few trout. We then encounter the elk of Wisconsin, thriving on Lac Courte Oreille’s farm. To top it off, our crew indulges in a sweet treat–maple syrup from St. Croix. Ending with a splash, we conclude with two final stops to Bad River and Red Cliff, where both tribes discuss the importance of revitalizing native fisheries and proper harvesting techniques. Come and experience the vibrant cultures and incredible cuisines of Wisconsin’s tribes!
