Tucked away in the diverse and scenic landscapes of northwest Wisconsin are some of the most stunning waterfalls you can’t miss! In today’s blog, we’re featuring our top three waterfalls, but so many more linger among the thick wilderness and near vast barrens. Pack up and hit the road, chasing cascades!

Make your first stop at Siskiwit Falls, located just outside of small-town Cornucopia. Pack your hiking shoes, fishing poles, and swimming essentials, and set out for a day of play! To get to the falls, lace up your boots and follow an easy-rated quarter-mile trail alongside the Siskiwit River.

Nearing the end, the trail opens up to incredible views of the falls and a large kettle–perfect for fishing and swimming fun! For fishermen, the fish to catch are native trout, so plan accordingly. And swimmers, bring your tubes and floaties to glide down the falls, using caution, of course!

Can’t get enough hiking? Choose from five distinct trails, each offering views of the cascading falls. Just a quick five minutes away, more hiking awaits at Lost Creek Falls! Not to mention, more breathtaking views. Don’t wait! Begin your on-foot adventure this season.

Morgan Falls

Up next, Morgan Falls, nestled in Marengo, Wisconsin. This northwest Wisconsin waterfall is unlike any other, zig-zagging through rock formations from 70 feet high! On top of its unique, cascading shape, it’s perfect for all ages and open for exploration during all four seasons!

For an up-close view of the falls, venture along the accessible, three-quarters of a mile trail. A quick tip: Explore Morgan Falls in the fall for prime autumn views! While summer comes to an end, a whole new season is just around the corner!

In the northwest region of the state, fall is like a brand-new summer, from the vibrant foliage to fun-filled events. Plan your visit in the color-peak months of September through October. As winter approaches, unlock an all-new, frozen view of Morgan Falls as the snowflakes start to fall and icicles form around the rocky features. You can’t miss this four-season beauty.

Potato River Falls

Finally, the magnificent Potato River Falls in Gurney, Wisconsin! These falls make Gurney an utterly gorgeous gem in northwest Wisconsin. Choose from the Upper Falls or Lower Falls, each offering a vastly different vantage point of the 90-foot showstopper.

To see the Upper Falls, you’re in for about 131 steps, but trust us, it’s totally worth it! Pack some snacks and refreshments, and enjoy the awe-inspiring views. Don’t want it to end? Make it a long weekend and camp at the grounds situated near the top of the falls!

In the Lower Falls, closer to the river, cool off with a swim. Potato River Falls isn’t just for summer adventures…You can see them all year round! Pave your way through the snow to see this frozen waterfall wonder. And during the spring, be the first to see the rushing water break free!

Let today’s blog be the beginning of your day trip or weekend stay in northwest Wisconsin!
