But don’t wait too long to book… These charming cottages fill up fast! Follow along for everything you need to know before you go.
About the Cottages

WiscoCottages is home to five tiny boutique cottages, each set on its own private parcel, so you have your own space to relax and unwind. At the same time, all five cottages come together around a shared, park-like common area right on the Menominee River, giving you the best of both worlds.
Each cottage has its own layout and style, so you can find the one that fits your stay best! The five cottages include The Pines, The Birch, The Maple, The Briar, and The Meadows.
The Pines & The Birch
The Pines & The Birch feature a private bedroom with a queen bed, along with bunk beds in the open living area, making them perfect for smaller groups or families. These two are seasonal cottages, open from spring through late fall, which makes early summer an especially great time to book. And if you’re looking for that authentic Northwoods charm, both are all-log cottages.
The Classic Cottages Collection
The Classic Cottages Collection—The Maple, The Briar, and The Meadows—offers two private bedrooms, each with a queen bed, giving you a little more space to spread out. These cottages bring a modern, classic charm and are open year-round, so you can visit once and keep coming back in every season!
No matter your plans this summer, you’ve got lots of options! Book one cottage or go all in and reserve the full property. Click here to book now.
On-Site Amenities

One of the best parts about staying at WiscoCottages is everything you have access to right on-site! The shared riverfront area is set up for both relaxing and having fun, with a sandy beach, great fishing spots, and free kayaks all included with your stay.
You’ll also find beach volleyball, horseshoe toss, outdoor ping pong, lounge chairs, and tubes available for rent, so there’s always something to do (or a place to just kick back). Each cottage also comes with its own charcoal grill and fire pit, with firewood provided, because there’s truly nothing better than summer nights by the fire.
Inside, you’ll have all the comforts of home, including Wi-Fi and a fully equipped kitchen, plus access to nearby trails and the lake for even more to explore. Whether you’re starting your morning with coffee on the porch or heading out for a full day on the water, everything you need is right here—and it’s well worth it!

Nearby Adventures

While WiscoCottages has an array of adventures on-site, there’s even more to explore just a short drive away! Marinette is only 10–15 minutes from the property, so it’s super easy to head into town for a bite to eat or a quick outing!
Grab a Bite
One local spot in Marinette you won’t want to miss is Mickey Lu BBQ—it’s our go-to for a classic burger, and we’ve even featured them on The Cabin Podcast before! You can listen to that episode here.
In the mood for pizza? The Brothers Three serves up the best pie in town, and you can really taste the difference in their homemade dough and fresh ingredients. And if you’re looking for a classic supper club experience, head over to The River’s Edge. There’s nothing quite like dining right along the banks of the Menominee River to cap off a summer day!
Cast a Line
If you’re looking to get outdoors, you’re in the right place! Lake Noquebay is nearby for a day on the water, and the area is well-known for its incredible fishing. You’re in luck, too! Spring and early summer are prime times for fishing in Marinette. And just to the west in Peshtigo, you’ll find some of the best year-round smallmouth bass fishing around right on the Menominee River!
Explore the Waterfalls
Up for a hike? Marinette County is the official Waterfall Capital of Wisconsin, and with 15 different falls to discover, there’s lots of scenic ground to cover. We highly recommend the self-guided tour. It’s such a fun, easy way to get outside and explore at your own pace! Pro tip: Pack a picnic basket and stay for lunch! Download the trail map here. Get a head start by watching our Discover Wisconsin episode here.
Hit the Trails
And why not add a little off-road adventure to your getaway? Marinette County offers over 200 miles of ATV and UTV trails to explore! When you stay at WiscoCottages, the trails are easily accessible right from the property. The best part? You can hop on and hit the trails without ever needing to trailer your gear anywhere else!
Meet the Wildlife
For something a little different, head over to nearby Athelstane to check out the one-and-only Rustic Retreat Deer Park! This fan-favorite spot is home to all sorts of furry and feathered friends, including deer, bison, trumpeter swans, and even wolf dogs!
Another great spot is DeYoung’s Family Zoo, just across the border in Wallace. It’s home to over 450 animals across 125 species! You’ll meet everything from big cats (like tigers, lions, leopards, and even a liger) to grizzly bears, camels, and exotic reptiles.
