The Tournament
The American Family Insurance Tournament will take place from Friday, June 10th to Sunday, June 12th at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, WI. This PGA TOUR Champions event returns for its sixth year and features players who are competing for the tournament title. The multi-day tournament is a great opportunity to watch players like U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Steve Stricker and back-to-back AmFam Championship winner, Wisconsin native, Jerry Kelly. The excitement and tournament atmosphere is one all ages can enjoy, from the tee-off on the first hole to the crowd at the 17th green, the entertainment doesn’t stop. Ready to join in on the fun?
The event raises money for the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation, which supports the American Family Children’s Hospital and over 200 other non-profit organizations. This hospital is a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center right in Madison, Wisconsin, and serves the area with the highest level of care and respect.
The Concert
This year, the concert will be held at Breese Stevens Field right in the heart of Madison! The concert has included many Grammy winners over the past four years, so the question you may be wondering is, who will be performing? Well…Lady A, Boyz II Men, and Edwin McCain!
On Friday, June 10th you can join the fun and see these 3 bands take the stage right in Madison. Lady A is a three-time CMA Vocal Group of the Year and five-time Grammy award, winner! Opening for Lady A will be Boyz II Men, the best-selling R&B band of all time. To kick off the night, Edwin McCain will be there to perform some of his most enduring love songs!
All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation. These proceeds will be distributed to the American Family Children’s Hospital and other charities supporting families and children.
The Celebrity Foursome
The celebrity foursome on the Saturday of the American Family Insurance Championship is one of the most highly anticipated events for fans. Hosted by two-time US Open champion, Andy North, this event features a celebrity foursome playing a nine-hole scramble for charity and tees off after the last group of the day at approximately 2 pm. It allows fans to get glimpses of their favorite athletes and celebrities. Past celebrity participants have included players such as Jack Nicklaus, Toby Keith, Brett Favre, and Darius Rucker. The Race
Kick off the AmFam Championship week with the Race for Research 5k hosted by the American Family Insurance Championship this year on June 4th, 2022. You can join in the fun while getting in a bit of exercise, and supporting a great cause right here in Wisconsin. The race will kick off at 9:30 am at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, WI.
By participating in the race, you support local cancer research and a place for patients, survivors, families, Wisconsinites, and staff to come together to fight cancer. About the American Family Insurance Championship: American Family Insurance, the PGA TOUR Champions and Wisconsin native Steve Stricker launched this professional golf tournament in June 2016. The American Family Insurance Championship, held annually at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis., features a 78-player field. Championship week includes the three-day tournament, two Pro-Am competitions, 5K run/walk, charity concert and a special exhibition featuring celebrities from the sports and music industries. The 2022 event will be held June 4-12 with all proceeds allocated to the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation for distribution to the American Family Children’s Hospital and other charities.
