Racine County is a fun-loving, often whimsical place, with plenty of history and mystery. Today, we’re stopping in the wonderful city of Burlington to learn all about the Liars’ Club. That’s the name of a fantastic bar right next a great spot to grab lunch on the corner of Chestnut and Pine, but it is also an actual club of real people that have been encouraging smart alecks, wisecrackers and professional fibbers for almost a century.
Eric sits down with Rob King, who gives us a brief history of the Burlington Liars’ Club and the Tall Tales Trail. The two discuss how the idea for the club came to be, some of the jokes that stick out above the rest, and how people can still interact with the rib-tickling tradition today.
Eric walks around downtown Burlington, looking at the plaques while telling the audience a couple of the amusing jokes.
