Up first on the Bent’s Camp winter bucket list, we’re heading into the great outdoors! Situated on the shores of the Cisco Chain of Lakes and surrounded by vast wilderness, Bent’s Camp is the perfect base camp for outdoor fun.

Ice Fishing

At Bent’s Camp, visitors have easy access to the frozen waters of Mamie Lake–a popular ice fishing hotspot. Mamie Lake is a part of the world-famous Cisco Chain of Lakes. Besides its trophy musky, Mamie Lake also holds panfish, bass, pike, and record-class walleye. Drill a hole, drop a line, and let the fun begin!

Snowmobiling

Ready to kick it up to high gear? Embark on a snowmobiling adventure right from Bent’s Camp! Thanks to the Frosty Snowmobile Club, there are a plethora of trails in Land O’ Lakes that are kept in pristine condition. Take the southern arch route, which will lead you through the area’s most scenic forests, untouched lakes, and surrounding communities of Wisconsin. 

Snowshoeing

Want to take it slow? Nearby Bent’s Camp, there are many opportunities for snowshoeing, like at the Sylvania Wilderness Area. With 18,000 acres and the beautiful Clark Lake, this adventure will surely leave you in awe. 

Cross-Country Skiing

For more solitude, cross-country skiing is an adventure just for you. The best part? Bent’s Camp is surrounded by spectacular trails. To name a few, traverse along the Land O’ Lakes Cross-Country Ski Trails and Sylvania Outfitters Ski Trails, which are both nestled in the Ottawa National Forest

Thrilling Events

We’re ending the Bent’s Camp winter bucket list with the most thrilling events of the season! From sled dog races to radar runs, you won’t want to miss this…

Up first, on February 3rd through the 4th, head to the Northwoods for the annual Three Bear Sled Dog Races! Known as one of the greatest spectator races in the entire northern Midwest region, this event brings all the excitement. 

Over the course of these two short days, several other events take place, including a craft fair, skating, and even a musher’s ball! You’ll want to stay, so book your cabin rental at Bent’s Camp today.

From one race to another, the Bent’s Camp Radar Run is a must-add to your 2024 calendar, happening on February 17-18! Annually, hundreds of spectators and racers gather together on Mamie Lake for food, drinks, and snowmobile racing fun. 

Watch as the excitement unfolds, with several high-speed races, including the Bikini Run! While this event provides an abundance of fun, it also serves as a fundraiser for the Frosty Snowmobile Club, who keeps the area’s trails in immaculate condition.
